Senior Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join Referoo’s growing business development team. Reporting to the APAC Sales Manager you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expansion through strategic partnerships, client acquisition, and market expansion efforts, whilst leveraging your strong network and industry knowledge. 

Referoo is a rapidly growing Australian owned technology scale up revolutionising the way businesses manage the reference checking process. This cutting-edge platform is constantly growing, most recently adding new survey capability amongst a host of new product releases and expansion into the UK and US markets!

Key responsibilities are:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve company objectives and revenue targets.
  • Present software demos and successfully guide prospects through the buying process.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and potential areas for business expansion.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders to enhance business opportunities and foster collaboration.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, and targeted outreach efforts.
  • Negotiate favourable terms and agreements with clients and partners to secure new business deals and partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
  • Track, analyse, and report on key performance metrics and business development activities to evaluate progress towards goals and identify areas for improvement.

 The ideal candidate will have 

  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or related roles, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a BDM position.
  • Understanding of the HR and Recruitment technology, SaaS Recruitment / HR landscape desirable
  • Network of industry contacts and relationships with potential clients and partners.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative business development strategies.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a strong drive for achieving and exceeding targets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of successfully identifying new opportunities, cultivating relationships and driving revenue growth and achieving targets in a B2B SaaS tech environment. An understanding of HR and Recruitment technology or the HR sector is preferable, but not essential. 

To be successful in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills as well as be resilient, motivated, and possess a high level of analytical thinking. The ability to work autonomously, manage deadlines under pressure, and continuously learn are all essential.
